Investigations into minimal form

The work is situated within a historical lineage that spans minimalism, radical abstraction, and conceptual art, while avoiding direct citation through a carefully calibrated compositional decision: the line is displaced from the center, subtly altering the perception of negative space. The primary tension arises from the relationship between presence and near-absence. The vertical element is not read as a simple graphic mark, but as a spatial event. A subtle lateral shadow introduces ambiguity, shifting the line between surface and object, image and architectural presence. The reduced scale intensifies the work’s effect, requiring close and silent observation. In a larger format, the composition might risk rhetorical monumentality; in its intimate dimensions, it enforces focus and restraint. Its strength lies in the discipline of subtraction, where meaning emerges not through accumulation but through controlled reduction. The risk inherent in such an approach remains interpretative: extreme minimalism may be read either as essential precision or as insufficiency, depending on context and curatorial framing.
