A Tower That Grows Downwards
2026
A tower is recognised by its ascent. It gathers mass at the ground and projects itself towards the sky. This tower follows the opposite impulse. Only its smallest part emerges into view. Beneath the surface, the structure widens and develops into the earth, as though elevation had been turned inside out. The work preserves the monumentality of the tower while reversing its direction. Growth becomes descent, and what appears above ground is no longer the building itself but the visible tip of a much larger, hidden architecture.
