To Become
2026
The Unfinished Work To Become concludes the series by moving beyond the idea of a definitive form. One part of the brutalist geometric structure appears solid and complete; another seems to emerge, dissolve or change within the surrounding space. Matter remains poised between what it has been and what it might yet become. The monolith that opened the series returns transformed into a geometric organism open to change. The twelfth verb completes the cycle while leaving its meaning open. To become is to accept that we are never entirely finished. Every form contains a future possibility. Transformation is the condition of existence itself. “No form is definitive. Every ending contains a new beginning.”
