The Little Observers
2026
Two small figures emerge from an almost empty wall. They belong to the architecture, yet seem to observe it from outside. The work originates from a real architectural detail in Via Condotti, Rome: two small sculpted figures on the façade of a building, discovered almost by chance during a walk. They are among those details that a city quietly preserves and that our eyes, caught in its constant movement, can easily overlook. The architecture is progressively stripped away. The shop windows, signs, street and movement of the city disappear. What remains are two figures, a few lines, a wall and their shadows. It is not simply about making a detail visible, but about giving it a space in which it can finally be seen. When a detail risks going unnoticed, I try to give it a home.
